Awarding the 'Arte Y Pico"

On June 13th, I was honored with the “Arte Y Pico” award by fellow blogger Denise Baily who writes KKL Primitives (for the complete story, read my June 13th blog titled “I received the Arte Y Pico award!”).

As a recipient of the “Arte Y Pico” I must “pay it forward” by choosing five bloggers to present with the award, following these rules.

1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award for creativity, design, interesting material, and contribution to the blogger community, no matter the language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3) Each award-winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4) The award-winner, and the one who has given the prize, have to show the link of the "Arte Y Pico" blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5) Show these rules.

As you can imagine, choosing only five blogs was difficult and it has taken me quite some time to narrow it down. Here, then, in no particular order, are my choices:

(1) Angela Mabray - CraftyGoat’s Notes

I appreciate the goal of Angela’s blog, which is to share tips, techniques and tutorials about crafting; namely paper crafts, hemp jewelry and polymer clay.

"CraftyGoat’s Notes" is well written and informative. One of her tutorial videos, “How to Make Your Own Texture Molds”, was particularly helpful to me because that is something I’ve been wanting to try. Click here to read Angela’s blog.

(2) Scott Bulger - Scott Bulger Photography

I love Scott’s photographs but the main reason I have chosen his blog for this award is because of his no-nonsense tips to becoming a better photographer. Here is an excerpt from one of his posts, “Today’s Top Ten List For Success”:

1. Be passionate or get rid of your camera. You can't do this (or anything else usually) half hearted. You have to love what you are doing because it isn't easy. There will be plenty of times when you will want to take up plumbing because you see some weird stuff out there. If you are passionate about photography, it won't matter what anyone else is doing. Do your own thing.

That got my attention! (Click here to read the rest of his list)

(3) Dylan and Jo James - Cart Before the Horse

I chose this blog because I absolutely love Jo and Dylan’s work! If I need something to smile about, I know where to go.

Dylan and Jo are a “mom and dad business; a two-person company of artists”. I particularly like this blurb on their blog; “All of our creations are made one at a time. They're all one-of-a-kind. We make them with our own hands, since these are the only hands we have.”

Take a look at their marvelous blog for yourselves by clicking here.

(4) Vienne – Eavesdrop Writer

Who doesn’t enjoy eavesdropping now and then? I confess I do. It wouldn’t have occurred to me to base a blog on it….but it did to Vienne. I found her posts to be a bit addictive; kind of like not being able to eat one potato chip…each one I read made me want to read another…and another. I’ll bet you can’t read just one. (5) Nancy – Nancy and the Kitties

Short and sweet explanation for choosing this blog for the Arte Y Pico…this girl is smart and funny, her cats are cute and I like it. Click here to read Nancy’s blog and see if you don’t agree.

It is my great pleasure to present these five deserving bloggers with the“Arte Y Pico” award.
