Black Mountain Furniture *** Dahlonega, Georgia

I have had several “careers” through the years, one of which was selling furniture for upscale furniture stores in Houston, Texas and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Of all the brands I sold, my absolute favorite was a line of solid wood bedroom and dining room furniture. I loved it so much that it was easy for me to sell....and I sold a lot of it. It is excellent quality which will last for several generations if cared for properly. I felt confident that my customers would be proud to have it in their homes.

That is the way I feel about the furniture made by Craig and Reginia Boling, who have been building furniture for more than 10 years. Their home and shop are located in the small college town of Dahlonega, in the Appalachian mountains of north Georgia. Interestingly, it is the site of the first U.S. gold rush!

Their venture into furniture making began as the result of a shopping trip. Reginia saw a table that she loved but Craig said " I don't like the legs" to which Reginia retorted, “Then you build me one!”…..and he did.

Craig is a 3rd generation woodworker. Both his father and grandfather worked with wood and their skills were passed down to Craig.

Many of the items Craig and Reginia build are based on ideas Reginia gets when browsing in an antique store or looking through a magazine. She is drawn to things that look old and primitive with simple lines.

Every item Craig and Reginia make is available in over 50 colors, allowing their customers to pick the pieces they want in a color that matches their décor. They are happy to customize any of their designs or build one according to your specifications.

In addition to “people” furniture, Reginia and Craig make a nice line of elevated feeders and dog beds in various sizes.

Reginia and Craig's website, “Black Mountain Furniture” has more examples of their beautifully made furniture and a “shopping cart” feature which allows you to make purchases directly from their site.
